GBØRAS - GB2SPC Churches on the Air CHOTA

South Cheshire ARS will be active from two churches for this years CHOTA event.

2017 marks the 60th anniversary of the World Association of Christian Radio Amateurs and Listeners (WACRAL) - Churches and Chapels on the Air event.  The founder of WACRAL, Reverend Arthur Shepherd was a Methodist Minister in the Cheshire town of Crewe at Trinity Methodist Chapel.  Unfortunately the Chapel was demolished in 1967.

To celebrate the work of the Reverend Arthur Shepherd, South Cheshire ARS are to operate two stations for the event with an Award offered to Radio Amateurs and Short Wave Listeners that make contact with both stations during the event to be held on 9th September 2017.

GBØRAS (Reverend Arthur Shepherd) will be on the air from St. Leonard's Church in the village of Warmingham, approximately 5km from the centre of Crewe.

GB2SPC (Saint Peter's Church) will be on air from Saint Peter's Church in the village of Leighton-cum-Minshull Vernon, also approximately 5km from the centre of Crewe.
